Bike Week 2019, Who's Going?

Been here since fri night. Probably the best weather we have had for bike week in many years, warm and sunny pretty much all week! Looks like normal biker crowds but jeez, packed with cages and spring breakers. A1A is a holy mess from Seabreeze blvd to past Speedway Blvd every day. Beach Street is pretty much shut down and there is another vendor area across from the Speedway called One Daytona. Interesting that Harley brought no display bikes to their tent this year at the speedway, don’t recall ever seeing that before. Honda, Yamaha, Indian all have their normal tents with the new display models.

Blah...
Just came in from riding around for hours with a few members, it's more of the same dullness, it ain't looking good as far as attendance wise, Beach Street has nothing going on except for a few tents set up around the Indian dealership, I was told by a Daytona city councilman it was because of the new Brown And Brown insurance building they are putting in on Beach Street ($30 million in revenue), they said it was decided that no vendors would be allowed on Beach Street for this Bike Week.
Even Main Street's traffic was down from what we saw, yes bikes on the curb like usual but the traffic was way down than I've ever seen it.

I have the time and money. 21 years at the same place of employment has afforded me the time off and the money to go. 26 hour drive is no big deal when you have 3 drivers. We spend more money on food down here than anything else. Between gas for the truck and the timeshare we own, it costs the 3 of us each $600 to come down here for 8 days. Look at the weather in Central WI and look at the weather in Daytona right now. It's a no-brainer!
