Maybe they're doing this project because.....

1) It makes them look "green" to the younger folks.
2) It will get people to walk into a dealership who maybe wouldn't have. Sales guy = "Maybe you'd be better off with a Sportster?"
3) They need a TAX WRITE-OFF.

$30,000 really??? C'mon HD.

And tires, drive belts. If people are using this torque that makes a black hole's pull look weak then Im sure things will be wearing out.

What they lose in sales they gain in publicity? 'THEY' are all doing it! Makes sense!

They should have painted that thing brown for the turd it's going to be.
And that means that one of the things that Harley owners love..."There's always a dealership close by"...is no longer true. It's not just that it's too far away for a hot dog, recharge and head home, it's too far away for routine service. You'd have to trailer your bike in for anything.

From a cross country EV travel perspective, all the H-D dealers would almost be like a set of mini Tesla supercharger stations strategically situated along major thoroughfares.

As for me, if I had an EV it would be just one more reason to head to my local, friendly Taj Mahal dealership when a free foodage/drinkage event occurs. I get topped off and so does my EV. :-)
Here's one of my main questions: Do we know whether or not the Harley uses an "industry standard" plug? If there even is an industry standard plug. Wouldn't surprise me if the MoCo made it a "Harley-Only" plug, so you had to go to a Harley dealer on the road, and no other EV's could use the one at the dealer.

I'm waiting to see the all new strap-on Willie G man bun. Or, for riders who are totally bald, there could be a peel & stick model.

Guaranteed it will be a Harley designed plug. BUT!!! The good news is Harley Davidson will have an HD branded and approved adapter available. Retail cost for the plastic adapter will be $129.99

In regards to parts, I've noticed on a few items I recently purchased that prices increased from 8% to 18% in the 2019 HD Genuine Motor Parts & Accessories catalog.

As antiquated as Willie G's ideas are of whats 'cool/hip', he'd be trying to sell mullets not man buns.
