well **** that, I was expecting 20k, maybe 24k, but 30k?

going to have to see the full details but if that range is anything like the range Zero motorcycles offer then it certainly is not highway range. Let alone rumor was this would only support level one charging; read damn slow. So 30k for two wheels and very little else. I was a little adventuresome spending 55k on my TM3 but I ain't crazy

so it is a press bike and not a serious effort, go figure. time to update my signature.

on a side note, MCN did a long term review of a Zero EV motorcycle and it wasn't all roses.

Very disappointing Harley, 110 miles per charge is not going to put many of these bikes in folks garages.

 

 

 

110 mile range is OK given the bike's intended purpose. A $30K price will mean zero sales, though. Far, far too much for the intended customer! Also, many relevant specs haven't been released yet. H-D blew it.

Here is the breakdown for electric vehicles. Lets pretend for a second electric propulsion caught on 100 years ago and the world went electric. Cars, motorcycles, boats, airplanes (ponder the range electric air would travel would be). And lets say for the sake of argument it is 2019 and all the coal we have burned, hydro plants built and solar energy consumed to drive the economy we enjoy today. How much coal do you think would be needed to supplement solar and hydro to produce the electricity needed to fuel the world we live in today? Going out on a limb here, a metric **** ton. Also, where do you think all those spent batteries would be? The landfill? Thats a lot of batteries. China? Most likely as thats who is disposing of them now so we don't have to look at them and their environmental laws are non existent.

NOW, lets say in 2019 the internal combustion engine has been invents and is half as efficient as it is right now. The new Mother Road would be built and Americas infrastructure would BOOM at the thought of driving beyond a 50 mile range. Think of it, drive across country and all you have to do is pull up to a metal box and pump dino fuel in a tank. No more batteries in land fills. Think of the empty landfills.

BUT, then you wouldn't get to feel so good about yourself saving the environment burning all that coal to make electricity. Especially all those politicians proporting it with nary a solar panel on tier property (Gore) or a windmill within sight of their constituents because they are ugly (Ted Kennedy).

Spending mental energy on this makes me want to go buy a Dodge Viper, get it on a trailer and haul it with a 1989 Cummins Diesel in front of the Sierra Club headquarters. non stop.
