Klictronic Electric Shifter on 2wheels anybody...
Hi all, I may need to go the route of an electronic shifter for medical / amputation of left foot reasons. Funny because I ordered a new Deluxe a month ago but just found out and not ready to quit riding. All positive looking at electric shifters and I’m thinking of the Klictronic system. Have any fellow riders had experience with these and how do you find the set-up? Thanks Phil

Sorry to hear that and glad you’re still riding. I have asked for a heal toe shifter anyway as the movement was starting to get worse with forwards on my last ride and in case the Drs can save my foot. I’m an optimist either way.

Thanks. There seems to be a couple of key manufacturers for these electric shifters and my research shows them fitted to many different bikes which is very positive.

I lost my left leg above the knee in 2014 and had been looking at these as well. What i did was turned my heel shifter straight up and welded a 3/8 ths rod on it and threaded the end. Installed a shifter **** and was riding again. But i'm always looking for something better. I do ride a trike now though. I just was talking to a guy that had the Pingel shifter and he's been fooling with it for awhile. He said he has it where it will upshift good , but sometimes not down shift very well. This is where he's left it. Talked to another fellow with one and he said they were good for maybe 15,000 miles and then needed to be rebuildt. He has 2 just for this reason. This is why i kinda stayed away from the electric shifters. My setup is slower but it's dead reliable.
