Default When is Harley going to skip all the stage Options and just put a turbo on a engine

All the car manufacturers are putting turbos on most of their Cars and trucks for better gas mileage and horsepower . I really would like to see them skip the whole stage thing . And see them produce a M8 engine with a stock OEM turbo on it .
And I’m not looking for some big *** racing thing that sticks out like a sore thumb . Just a first Gen turbo that’s good enough to equal a stage III set up .

In theory it might work, however I think the MoCo is still trying to figure out how to stay above water without going to far down the rabbit hole.

The stage thing is because HD is restricted by the EPA. They basically make their bikes to EPA specs so they won't be fined. It's up to us to change these EPA bikes into our bikes.

Stock turbo on an air cooled engine ain't gonna happen

Never, turbos are crap on bikes.
Plus, you never hear the end of how hot the air cooled harleys run....can you imagine the bitch fest here after adding a turbo?

Why lose all that money by making HP off the showroom floor?

If they were concerned about rabbit holes they wouldn't been making so much noise about the livewire.

I doubt that there will be "Stage" options for the Pan American's engine.

I'll be very surprised if this is true.

Going to stray off course a little here, car/truck manufacturers are going to the 4 cyl. turbo'ed engines to meet Euro. standards so that their products can be sold in Europe. The M8 engine was built around euro. standards hence some of the transfer of fluids problems. My question would be why add something like a turbo that would need an intercooler to cool the air going in and just generate more heat that some riders won't tolerate?

Default Turbo

Simple answer, Never. Doesn't fit Harley's business model of sell you and under powered motor then expect you to buy stage 1thru 4 screaming eagle kits. How do you think they show the profits they do without the engine hop up sales ?

In my limited understanding of Turbos, a single turbo would not give the Torque range that is needed for big heavy Harleys the way most of us ride them. . So, you’d either need a large dual stage, or twin turbos.

There is no substitute for displacement, fuel atomization, efficiency, stroke.

JMHO...
