Default Garage floor

We moved to the Texas Hill Country in September into a new house. I finally got around to organizing the garage, but now I need to do something with the floor.
1. put a concrete sealer on it?
2. paint?
3. epoxy?
4. racedeck or equivalent?
5. concrete stain?
6. **** carpet?

Thoughts?

Use an anti slip texture with what ever you choose. Putting a wet boot down on a slick surface will end badly. I made that mistake the first time I epoxy painted my floor.

Racedeck or similar. I had mine epoxied only because it was painted when we moved in. It looked great when it was new, but it's showing its age. I think a good epoxy would cost close to what a tile system would cost. I'm not talking about epoxy you can get at a Home Depot, etc.

The **** carpet idea sounds like a good one. Maybe toss in a disco ball and a couple lava lamps and really rock the neighborhood lol.

With **** carpeting a flying snap ring will stop dead instead of ricocheting out the door & into a neighbor's yard

If you go with concrete stain, the solvent based will not peel if done correctly. The down side is gasoline will not get along well if spilled, but oil will not penetrate it and wipes up effortlessly with a shop rag. Epoxy can peel as well as any latex based material if not done professionally.

My .02 cents

We used a snap lock floor - forget which one. Holds up well. The only downside is that we have a side load garage; so, the Jeep is turning as it comes into the space. Big Jeep tires, and well, the floor would pop out of place. Ended up using an adhesive on the right side to keep it down against the force of the tires. The initial cost is high, but confident it will last longer than any of the other options. As added bonuses, it floats over any cracks on the floor and you can get fun with the colors / design.

I think I would go with some form of epoxy paint system on the floor. We do that at work ( or where I used to work.. I retired!!) and the floors held up pretty well. I suspect not having the tracking over your floor like they do at the shop, you will have a long life. Tip.... if you get an oil spill on the floor or drive, grind some oil dry (or clay cat litter) into the area and the clay breaks down and sucks the oil that has soaked in and clean up. Maybe you know this, but surprisingly many do not. Good luck on your decision.
