Thanks everyone for all the answers and advice. I decided to keep my Street Glide. I have it the way I want it really, and I know I'd miss the fairing, comfort, storage, and tunes. Also, just the fact that I know my bike is worth more than the FXDC, and the eagerness of the dealer to get me to trade, makes me realize that I should hang on to my bike.

Funny thing, but last Sunday a very dear friend ask me to help get his future son in law's twin cam Street Bob started and ride it to a storage building about two or three miles away. The reason is a long story, so we aint going there.
Now back to the story, I have had buyers remorse ever since I bought my Road King Classic, because I felt like I should have bought the Yellow 07 Dyna` Super Glide Custom. I have tried every way to make My Road King into a Dyna ever since I bought it. Well folks that all changed last Sunday, because for the first time in 12 years I realized I had made the right choice in the first place after all. That Street Bob was cool, but not near as cool as my Road King

You decided well IMO.

I like Dynas just as much as the next guy - regretting the couple I've let go but you have a nice bike that you know.

I can relate my friend. Back when I still had my 03 RK it started nickel and diming me. Every time I turned around I was spending $$ on it so I decided to sell it and buy a Dyna. I ended up with a very nice 07 Street Bob. The SB handled great, was light and nimble, and had plenty of power. But I found after a week or two I was spending $$ on it to make it more like a Road King. Windshield, shocks, bags, better seat. I soon realized I had screwed up and I knew what had to be done. 6 months after I bought the Street Bob a guy was riding it out of my driveway and I had a wad of cash in my hand. The search was on for another Road King, which ended with me buying the beautiful 09 Road King Classic pictured below.

Jump on it! HD dealers would NEVER make that kind of trade.

You have fun with that.
It matters to nobody but me what my bikes look/perform like. Furthermore, most everything that I do to my bikes after the initial purchase is aftermarket. When I bought this last RGS, at the time of purchase I ordered RCX headers and slip ons through the dealership parts department. Since new, apes, grips, shields (plural), seats (plural), extended saddlebags, foot boards, lower legs, headlights, all other lights, front wheel, front fender, passenger boards, amp and speakers, yada yada, the list goes on...

I know I am forgetting a few things.
Sure, I buy the bikes from Harley but they belong to me and I outfit them to suit me alone.

At 4000 miles last year, you aren't exactly burning up the roads and apparently not doing any touring. If you think you need a lighter bike to make you more comfortable or confident doing local cruising, perhaps you do. The deal's not really bad, and the indy has got to make a living. Only you can decide if the trade is right for you. The street glide is a nice looking bike, but you wouldn't be embarrassed on the Dyna either...
