He made the repair himself. When it was back together David called me damn near in tears because with a little help over the phone and some small amount of advice his bike was back to riding condition. There is so much more to this story and since I type like old people **** I'll say this and stop. David and I met only once before his death. He had a beautiful family and friends all around him. My wife and I attended his funeral. I really fell a loss for the man I had physically only met once. He would call and talk for hours about Harley's and life experiences in our early years. We each had some tales to tell. David died at age 47. I'll soon be 72. His wife jokingly referred to me as "the old man" a name I wear proudly. He is a man I'll never forget. I feel like his Road King played a large role in his living as long as he did.
You sir are one of the best people that I have ever met and I am proud to have you as a friend!!!

OP, ride on brother. Many of us have physical issues that would keep us in the saddle longer. Arthritis is eating into my time but I ride as much as possible. Thanks for that very inspiring write up!!!

Experience is not what happens to u, it's what u do with what happens to u. / quote

So easy to say, but only those that have been there truly understand!

You sir are an inspiration, talk about putting things in perspective. You keep fighting the good fight and I hope someday our paths cross, on our Harleys of course! Wind therapy for me is good for whatever ails me as well.

Best wishes that you continue kicking LD's butt.

keep up the good fight. I remember quite a few years back, pulling up to fuel my bike, a guy on a trike pulled to the next pump, asked me if would take some cash to the cashier so he could fuel up, he was paralyzed from waist down. always inspiring to see someone that will not let some health issues stop them.
