Wow, and I thought FL was expensive. Leave it to CA...and they’re still broke
Here are some FL fines for my county :
Red light - $283 plus mandatory driving school
Moving violation (stop sign, turns, etc) - $166
DL address, non-moving violations - $116
Seatbelt - $116
Speeding - 6-14 over - $206, 15-19 over $256, 19-29 over $281, 30+ over - go see the judge (current going rate is around $456)

while some of those are chicken chit, I would like to see the $1,000 for uninsured drivers and cell phoners as those are the majority that could care less about any one else on the road. actually for the uninsured it should be the vehicle impounded until the uninsured pays for the damage caused and shows proof of 1 year insurance.

All the more reason that every state should implement a mandatory drivers test every 5-years. The rules are in place for safety of all people traveling the roadways.
Driving without a license - you’re a menace. Not stopping at a school bus flashing red sign - you’re simply a moron who shouldn’t be on the road. Period! You hit a rambunctious 8-year old kid and you’ll never, ever recover from the trauma you’ve caused a family.
Using a phone constitutes “distracted driving” and they should confiscate your phone until your court date. People would freak out!

But what about the illegals that don't have a license or insurance? How are they gonna pay? Aren't these fines gonna be discriminatory to them? How are the morons gonna afford to pay these fines? Will the fines be waived for them? Isn't that the policy that was enacted a couple years ago; if you can't afford it, you don't have to pay?

Exactly. Here in NY if you get a speeding ticket you can pay more and get no points on your license. If that doesn't show that it's all about the money, I don't know what does.

the sad thing is in Ca and most of the blue liberal states the illegal aliens seem to get away with laws that the citizens are subject to. have herd that illegals injure or kill a lot of innocent people out on the road. also if they damage your vehicle, likely the cop will tell you is nothing you can do about recovering the damage.
