Default Forgot how awesome new tires were + Phx riding season too!

With the Phoenix riding season upon us, I decided to install a new set of American Elites on my RK, replacing my old rear Am Elite with 15k and front D402F with 29k. It's amazing how a good set of tires makes it feel like a new bike, just pure bliss. The old rear was squared off and showing a tendency to want to stand up corners, and the front was just feeling old and stiff. Now the bike just feels planted through turns, ignores pavement seams and tar snakes with nary a twitch, and just glides across all sorts of bumps and small spikes. In fact, the turn in was so easy it took a couple hours to re calibrate my mind, being used to those old tires wanting to stand up and resist a bit. These new things just roll in and plant with almost zero effort. I can't say enough about those tires.

Also, since I had the wheels off for new tires my list of things "while I was in there anyway" got longer than I planned..........brake pads & fluid change, caliper refresh, adjust air suspension, lube gear shift lever & clutch, wheel bearing refresh, and good solid cleaning (which I don't often do).

Anyway, all that just added to the "rightness", turned what would've already been a nice riding day of 300 miles into one of those days when everything comes together and you savor every minute.

Glad that you are enjoying your new tires. So much rides on those few inches of rubber between you and the road that a set of new rubber can actually save your life in an emergency situation.

What’s this “riding season” you speak of? I’m riding year round, since moving here from the Midwest..
