Big fan of the EGS, a blank canvas sort of say....to make it your own.......build it or leave it plain Jane....No bells, No whistle, just ride the damn thing....After years of thinking of upgrading (my 2004 FLHT) to a maybe better or newer bike, ie 2007-08, then the new 09-13's, pre rushmore...Everybody jump on those..right?
Then we, I mean you all traded for the pedestal of Moco's line...The Rushmore 2014-2016....here we go, I mean, you guys go again, traded "up" to the better version....And now the M-8s...A marketing genius....the newest and best thing and proven with refinement and more bells and whistle comfort...I agree its nice.....
The beauty of being a Amerikan, free choices.....leave it plain Jane EGS or buy the newest and greatest thing Moco have to offer????
I decided to keep mine and not give in to the marketing Genius of Moco....I voting for the Standard again.....
AS of 2019...My Not so Standard!!!

I agree, the sport glide is a GREAT bike. The only bike I've ridden recently that makes me want to trade my low rider in. Would be even better with a little more wind protection and storage

I'm all for bringing back the Standard. Here's my 2004. MSRP, $15,295. With the radio, air & oil gauges, passenger backrest, and luggage rack, still under 16K.

Default Mid year release

Harley marketing 101, Electra glide standard. History repeats itself. Make a model, stop production of it,wait about tens years, rename it and re release it as a new model, charge more for it. Brilliant ! I can see it now 2025, the new Ultra guild.. if we wait long enough we'll see the low rider, the heritage springer, the fxrt,,the super glide, they'll all be resurrected.

base Road King lists at $19.3k , base Street Glide at $21.3k . if they take the windshield off the RK and put on a fairing the price would be pretty close to $20.3k which amazing enough is barneyboy's price with inflation !
do you really think they'd sell that many if it only cost $1000 to upgrade to the SG ? maybe if it had some chrome and all the badging they took off the SG .
i think a Softail with a fairing is more likely . add on the infotainment system and hard bags and sell it for $3000 more than the Heritage .
