35 deg, F it I知 riding
#21
I'd love to have a 35* day... with no salt on the roads... Hell, it got up to 60* one day last week but the roads are still white with salt. I'm starting to get the shakes, the bike hasn't moved since January 5th.

Cant ride now with all of the salt here in Maine but I'll OCCASIONALLY ride in the mid 30's. In the late Summer/early Fall here the morning will be in the mid 30's in the morning but 70's after work. I'll suck it up in the morning and head to work bundled up on the King knowing that when I get out I'll be in a T shirt coming home.

At 35 deg, when moving at 50 mph, the windchill makes it feel like 10-15ish...degrees. this is why most say they dont ride below 50. At 50 degrees, while riding, it feels right around freezing....
OP, I dont care what ya say, you were cold on that ride, and if you didnt have a helmet, even colder.

Live in Sacramento, worked in Santa Rosa. 110 miles door to door 1 way. Starting about mid Novemberr, temps when I would leave in the mornings were 33-35 deg most of the time. My commuter is Ultra Limited with heated seat and grips, thermals, chaps, Carhart over leather jacket, BMW cold weather gloves. Tolerable for the 2+hour ride.
