I bought the first HD Branded Sena 30K sold at my local dealer and a Shark Evo 3 helmet. I always used a Half Helmet but the wind noise drowns out my radio. Looking forward to the new experience.

 

Hope yours is better than mine. I tired the 30K and the 20S and couldn't hear squat above 40 mph with a full face helmet ended up sending them both back to Amazon. I used a Sena SMH10R for 3 years before it broke and loved it. Thinking about trying a Scala next, but they don't have a model that fits in my new Bell helmet.

 

Are they rain proof now like the Cardo units?

 

they are the same amount of rain proof as the 20s

the cardo are completely rain proof that much i know

although i have been caught in 5 hour rain soaked rides with my 20s and it never skipped a beat

 

I will upgrade to the 30K when my 20S gives up the ghost. I rode for 2 straight days in the rain in Seattle in 2016. I had to clean the contacts with an alcohol pad, but the unit worked flawlessly and I still use it for ~20K miles a year.

They aren't rated for rain, but I never had an issue.

 

I had to move the speakers in my helmet a couple of times to get them to center in my ears. Now I have no issues hearing.
