Question Remove Scratches on Windscreen

I have some small scratches on one side of my windscreen. Any suggestions on whether I can buff the out (and if so how) or should have them removed by a professional?

Use one of the fine finishing polishes and a finishing pad used by car detailers.

I have used it on the plastic lenses on my car and it removes swirl marks and doesn't fog the plastic.

I have a rotary polisher but you could use the pads in a variable speed drill if you run it at low rpms, no more than 900 to 1000 rpm but start slower to spread the polish first.

You just need to allow the polish to do its job. It will take some time to do so you just be patient and watch how things go. You don't need a lot of pressure either. Check how hot the screen is getting and obviously allow it to cool down if necessary.

You should find youtube videos on things like correcting yellowed and scratched headlamp lenses.

Novus Plastic Polish. Start with number 2 or 3 depending on severity Finish with #1 which s also a great general windshield and face shield cleaner.

Took very deep scratches or if my Clearview and Freedom windshields

For maybe $70 or so LRS has new ones on sale pretty regular. Probably improve your buffeting that you didn't know you had. Haha...

Get too crazy and you’ll go through the thin protective coat on the Lexan and then it’s ruined. Ask how I know

There is a product sold at boat stores, West marine, called Clear-to-see, It is used in aeronautical applications. A bottle is around 20.00 but lasts for ever. Use it all the time in many apps.

You can get a new one for under $50 from FXR Dave on Ebay. I've bought a number of them from him and they are top notch.
