Default My 88 year old dad's first time on a Harley Davidson

Dad is 88 and he is in great shape both physically and mentally. He road a 1981 Honda CM400e for almost 20 years - until the late 1990s, maybe 2000. The weather never deterred him. It was his primary ride for most of the time and it took him where he needed to go.

He spoke about Harley Davidsons occasionally. He was curious but the opportunity to ride one never presented itself. He ultimately gave the Honda to my sister as she thought her husband would ride it back and forth to work. Sadly, they let it rot away on their farm. He voice gets a little tight talking about it even today.

He rode my first two Hondas back in 2012, but has never asked about riding my Ultra Limited. So after family lunch yesterday, I told him to strap on my helmet... he was going for a ride. It was brief and mostly in straight lines, but he did a great job. I linked the video below. You can tell he was apprehensive at first but had a great time!

Good stuff, at first, thought I was going to watch Artie Johnson on Laugh In all over again, but he got her going well. Congrats to him.

I was happy for him. I am going to try to get him on it again before the construction pics up in spring.

BTW, My wife and I visited Niagara Falls, Canada in September. We had a blast. Beautiful weather and scenery. We could have hung out at Kelsey's all day. Then we walked across the border and took the Amtrak to NYC. Had a blast there, too, but Niagara Falls was our favorite. Aside from not being able to walk into a convenience store and buy a 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺.

That was great. I worry when my 87 year old father gets in the car.
