No, the original Dyna was an existing touring frame mated to a Sportster front end. I have read that it was a creation of Willie G. to swing HD back to what he thought was the proper 'roots' as opposed to the 'junk' Sport Glide that Eric Buell was championing at the time.

Are you serious? Little do you know that a Dyna is far more superior to a Sportster ... You don't have to beat the Dyna with your purse to get it going.
