Biltwell Bonanza - need opinions
Hi guys I am looking for 3/4 helmet for quite some time now. I tried to get something with ventilation. I tried arai classic v and shoei rj platinum but these are big helmets.
I consider Biltwell bonanza as I keep comming to same dealer and each time I try it the fit is just perfect. I just worry about comfort during hot days as this helmet do NOT have vents and this is quite a concern.
Other option is Troy Lee Design Classic Model as they have 3/4 with vents but I never heard of this manufacturer and hard to find any reviews on this particular lid.
There was also SS600 Power and Strength model but it looks like they dont manufacture this anymore
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Really curious about airflow of this bonanza lid as I love the comfort in this helmet.
PS I want to also be able to install visor and comunication system in helmet I will buy.

Its just the nature of the design. I had one. Biltwell is the old school look. So its fits snug and tight, so will look smaller. Will not have any air movement. At least the liner is removable. They get grungy pretty quickly. I live in a hot environment so not a good choice for me.
The ones with vents have channels between your head and styrofoam to vent air from front to back. So its design will always be bigger. Just need to decide if you want a sweaty head and look old school or comfy head and look like an astronought.

I have had several 3/4 helmets, none of them with venting and have never had an issue with heat. (Licks, Daytona, HJC) I have had heat issues with some full-face helmets with poor venting though. My 3/4 are relegated to summer riding so I do ride in the heat. Maybe it's just me but do others find 3/4 helmets hot?

I went with the Bell custom 500 cause it fit me better than the Biltwell. I don't get too hot in it but I live in Michigan.
If you really like the fit of the Biltwell that sounds like the one to go with.
Fly racing has a 3/4 that got good reviews on Revzilla, that might be another option for you. https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/fly-38-helmet-solid
I considered that one as well but went with the Bell as that was available at my dealer and they sold it to me less than the cost of buying online, though they did have to order it, didn't have my size in the color i wanted LOL.
Not sure about comm devices in any of them though, good luck.

Best would be to go to a motorcycle superstore or some non Harley dealer that sells other brands and try a bunch on for fit. If you then want to save money, go on line and buy it from places like Revzilla or Amazon.
I like HJC but they dont have the best look. I am wearing a LS2 track now, its pretty cheap and vents well. But if it dont fit, wont matter how well it vents.
