Anyone moved from a Shoei RF 1200 to a Neotec 2
It is time to replace my full face helmet. Well, I think I want to move to a modular helmet.
I am currently using a Shoei RF1200. I use this helmet because it is the one that worked best for me when I was looking for a helmet last time. With the RF1200 fitting as well as it does I have decided I will stick with the Shoei line of helmets.
My question(s) is this. Has anyone specifically moved from an RF1200 to a Neotec 2? If so, How to you like the Neotec compared the RF1200? Does the Neotec fit the same as the RF1200? How does the quietness of the two compare? How does the wind coming around the fairing affect the Neotec 2 vs the RF1200?
Your input will be appreciated,
TIA,
Kevin

I bought my RF1200 directly from the US distributor of Shoei (we have a professional relationship) - no one knows Shoei better than these guys. I was able to try all the models, sizes etc. The two helmets are not the same shape: the Neotec is for a rounder head, where the 1200 is more oval. I've got a long oval shaped head, so I noticed immediately the Neotec was pressing on my forehead.
So, like all helmet decisions, it depends on fit. See if you can find the Neotec in your size and wear it around the store for 15 minutes or so to see if you notice any hot spots.
Good luck.

I would classify the Neotec as an intermediate oval. In between a oval and long oval. I have an intermediate oval head, leaning more to long oval, and the Neotec fits me perfectly. Use Shoei’s sizing chart, as I have found it to be pretty accurate. And try on the size Neotec for your head measurements. If it doesn’t fit good, it’s probably not for you. However, Shoei does sell a variety of different size cheek and crown pads for the Neotec to customize and accommodate more folks.
