Default Daytona Bike Week Thefts

Saw this on

Instagram, guy got his front wheel stolen. Another member I follow, @theorneryone, got his bike stolen. I have been to a few rallies, guess I've been lucky, so far.

Sorry, the owner deserved it for his stupidity.
How dare they park a bike in a motel parking lot?
How dare she wear a short skirt?
How dare they not put bars in every window?
They deserve what they get.
Just blame the victim.

A few years back, a buddy of mine had his bike stolen during bike week. Went to the PD to report the theft. Had to stand in line.

Usually, thieves don't take the flashy bikes. They'll take the bikes that "fit in" or that no one notices...

Besides Stage 1 and a seat my Road king and 883 Iron are stock. Stock bikes are so blend in that nobody notices. In the case 9of the 883 iron, doubt anyone would steal that.

Love Bike Week and love my homely scoots.

Cargo trailers containing bikes at a hotel parking lot are a favorite for thieves.
The car show circuit have the same theft problem.

Beside theft of the front wheel, they also did some damage to the left side of the bike.

I always hope I don't have something like this happen during bike week, but I double check my insurance coverage before I go every year lol. Nothing I hate more than a thief! We stay at the same place every year because they turn the drive through area where you would normally unload and load cars into a bike parking area. Its 1 way in and 1 way out so its not very open. So you get the benefit of a covered parking area with 24/7 security guards so at least it eases the mind some.
