Unhappy Am I expecting too much from a Harley?

I have owned a new 2012 883 Iron, new 2014 Heritage, used 2012 Ultra, and now a 2011 CVO Ultra Roadglide.

Blew the engine of the 883 Iron at 52K after 22 months, so 25K miles later I stepped up to the Heritage which was totaled in an accident. I put 83K on the Ultra and suffered through little engine issues that could always be explained away. Now After having the CVO for 19 months and just 63K miles major engine repair. Quoting the service manager, basically every thing below the cylinders is needing to be replaced. This bike is serviced EVERY 5000 miles by the dealer.

So my question is two fold. Am I truly unusual in that I really RIDE my bikes? And am I expecting too much of a Harley mileage wise?

Please tell me what and how much you ride...

Not to bust your chops but do you do any pre-ride checks on your bikes engines? Like check oil levels? Seems you have bad luck with engines.

In order for the OP to put that kind of mileage on his rides he would have to average 90 to 110 miles a day every day. Its possible I suppose.

If what you said it true, then yes, you do ride a lot. 52k on a sportster in less than 2 years is a lot. Assuming you do all the required services, I would say that you probably are expecting too much.

Look at it this way...pretend you did not blow up the 883 after 52k and decided to sell it instead. How much would you think you could get for it considering it has 52,000 miles and is less than 2 years old?

What RPM do you ride? I'm betting you like to ride below 2500 most times? .

The bike is my only transportation. Don't own a car. Ride 365.... 100mile round trip to work on some of the best roads in East Tennessee....

If I tried to ride a Screaming Eagle 110 below 2500 bike would chug like crazy.... RPMs are around 3200 unless cruising on interstate more like 3000K.
