Because we can. Because it's really a kinda stupid thread and *needs* people saying something about it. You seem to be another of those who needs to carry around their Super Pocket-Insta-Cry-Space®©™ everywhere they go.

Because you can? Sure, why not. "Needs" to have his ***** broken? I don't think so. You seem to be another of those who needs to be a douche for the sake of being a douche. If that's what floats your boat, I'm sure you find this Forum to be a target rich environment for criticism of people trying to help.

There is a transformer in this device, correct?
You are actually using the same amount of electricity when the Battery Tender is in storage/maintenance charge mode whether the quick connect is connected or not, as long as power is supplied to the Battery Tender.
About:
.11 Amps
2.8 Watts
Whether you find that significant or not is another question.

Enough amps to power the microprocessor and amber light. Is that significant?
Do you power down all your computers and smart phone when not in use?
Concerning that little spark when connecting clips. Don’t you get a little spark when you connect cables to posts when you install a new batter in MC or car? Or jump starting a battery.?
It’s harmless.
