Default Harley is now voiding power train warranty and ESP on pre-2017 bikes with "unaproved" ecm tuning

Yep. If you have a tuned ECM with anything other than an EPA Harley approved flash tuner and your dealer hooks up the digital technician II computer it will immediately flag your VIN.

We all knew about this for the 2017 and newer model years due to the EPA Consent Decree.

But now HD is flagging pre-2017 bikes.

Millions (probably) of us with pre-17 bikes, an ESP and a flashed tune are now screwed.

My ‘16 got flagged because I had an FP3 tune. I didn’t care because I was 2 months from the end of my warranty and nothing happened, but the service tech definitely was like whoa your bike got flagged.

...a pre-2017 HD is already out of it's 2yr warranty window by now anyways, so would this even matter if it were true?

If this be true, aren't Extended warranties covered by a different company other than HD?

You're wrong. The tuners involved with the denial are ones that haven't been approved by the EPA or CARB. Take Harley out of your sentence above and that's what this is about.

But, if Harley voids your factory warranty then I believe that your ESP is no longer valid either.

The ‘17 and later ones maybe due to the EPA consent decree. On 2016 and older they will have to prove that the tune caused the issue in question. If not, they can not void the warranty. The Moss Magnuson act was enacted to protect the consumer when it comes to warranty repairs.
