Default This is why I don't take my bike to a dealer for oil

My brother took the bike into the dealership. Alfies of Wichita. I went to change the oil and the hex head stripped out and did not move the filter. It was on ridiculous tight. I tried tapping the end to expand out the hex and it helped but still stripped out with all the torque I could give it. I finally had to take two 6 inch 3/8 wood lags and tap them on the ends of the filter about 3 inches. I then had to take a 2 foot crow bar to break it free. I have on every car, truck and bike done no more than half a turn after the rubber touches and wet my finger with oil and spread it on the seal before putting on the new filter. Never ever had an issue and I can remove it without that much effort.

If you are going to bad mouth a dealer at least get the name right.

It isn't uncommon for a filter to be a real S.O.B. to get off even if it is installed properly

Alfie's shithole, If done right I have never ever had a hard time getting off a filter. Not like this. It was way way over tightened. And all for 3x the price of anyone else or 10x the price to do it your self.

Have the plugs changed? Why not use a socket? I am not a big fan of allens.

Never had problem with filters, and I use a wrench to put them on. I also use a wrench to take them off.

I use a filter wrench to put them on or if there is a hex I use my socket, but never more than half a turn past touching the rubber. I learned this 50 years ago in mechanics class 101

Ya, hasn't been Alef's for some time now. Can't say that Twister City is a great name either.
