I read that you should tap your helmet on HDF a few years ago, and tried it, but I don’t think most riders understand it.

I usually just flash my lights, which people get. Now, if I saw a maniac going 30 over I wouldn’t warn him. Personally speeders are pretty low on my list of threats. At least they’re paying attention. It’s the distracted, texting, drunk drivers I’m worrying about.

Every now again a zoom splat crotch rocket with a young punk will push the limits. There’s more focus on texters and non-hands free phone talkers. Those folks always get tickets which should make a motorcyclist happy.
It does make me happy about phone users getting a ticket. However, I drive a semi for a living, close to 30 years now...and make no mistake.....its always about revenue.

Generally speaking, I am pro-LEO.

This does not make me blind to the bouts of “cash register justice” that are periodically performed locally, usually in specific jurisdictions.
It's a practice performed elsewhere as well.

While on a trip with friends to the Keys recently, one of our group that drove in from their winter home was driving "with traffic" and 6 cars were pulled over, 4 with Florida plates were sent off, the other 2 had New York plates and a Connecticut plates.
They were ticketed.

It happens.

.....the only time I ever got pulled over on a bike (and I was WAY over the limit), the cop checked ID, talked about bikes for a minute or two, told me to slow down and let me go.

I am happy with both. More fools out there paying for that fancy new courthouse downtown Hampton, the better. Less money I may give them in my taxes.

I am 70, only had one ticket in my life. Was doing 41 in a 30 Zone. And I was doing 41. So what can I say? I have never been stopped and told I was speeding when I was not.

In all your 70 years how many times has your taxes went down because they picked up extra revenue elsewhere?

I tap the top of my helmet for other riders or flash my high beams for cages.

Probably never but they do utilize funds that they take in for protective vest and such. I do not think my area has speed traps. People really drive like idiots around here. See people switching lanes right and left. Flying by traffic to the right or left.

Not safe anymore around here on a bike. The police pretty much fill up the courts by the end of the first week of ever month.

I guess if you actually have a police force giving tickets to people who are not speeding, then you may have a point.

Personally, I would like to see red light cameras on ever signal light intersection and speed radar units all over the place. People think the speed limit sign means nothing.
