I just checked my app tutorial on the Android phone. First question is, "Is your Bluetooth on?" Are running your phone on a WIFI signal? I would try a cell signal to do the download. Suggestion pull your headlight fuse, you'll thank me later, if you have a battery tender plug that in also.

 

Make sure your harley battery is fully charged. Keep it connected to tender.
I had similar priblem when battery ran down before FP3 could complete its processing. It takes a while.

Has your Sportster been previously tuned to other device. If so your ECM only recognizes that device.
Make sure both Run and Ignition switches are ON

Don’t know about a previous tune as the bike was not new to me, kept it on the tender. Maybe try a different battery later.

Check with V&H to see if there is a way to override a previous tune tht may be married to your VIN.
Or if it makes a difference. If probably doesn’t. But worth inquiring.

 

Just sent screenshots of the system info to see if the ecm has been altered in anyway.
