Another unwritten rule is, Sportsters are the best bike H-D makes, and what has probably kept them in business for many years... usually a person starts out on one, and when getting older will end up on one because of size and weight. They are also very affordable on the used market and very reliable. There are alot of schlubs who think they need a road king to go bar hopping because their buddy bought one

Agreed, especially if the combined weight of operator and passenger is 450 lbs

I ride a Sporty so it's not like I have a man card to revoke.....but i'm just curious for my friends sake....he rides a Sporty too, identical to mine.
.

After having ridden both a EG and a Sporty on multi state rides IMHO any wimp can ride a large touring bike, but it takes a real man to ride a Sporty any long distance. (particularly the frame mounted ones)

WTF? I'm not allowed to wave at scooters anymore? What if there is a hot chick riding it?
Hell I wave at scooters, mopeds, bicycles, tricycles, even riding mowers, ATV's, side by sides, and skateboarders.
I'm a nice person. I like to be friendly. Singling out a group and saying "don't be nice to them" makes you a D-bag. Maybe your wife should be talking to us directly instead of going through you.

Oddly enough I do the exact opposite - I act like an *** and always wave at scooters.
