The pause in the video shows the second of two signs showing the inside lane is left turn only. Of course, I saw him change lanes behind me as we were approaching the intersection, so I was expecting the worst. Before TxDot had repaving done to this road, there used to be painted arrows on the pavement along with broken painted lines and ,I believe, there were signs on the horizontal pole adjacent to the stop lights.
Better stick to the left lane for left turns in the future.....just to be safe.....and alive a bit longer.

Like I said, I've turned left at this intersection many, many times. The vast majority of the time, the light is red when I come up on this intersection and there can be 10-20 cars in the inside lane and one, two or none in the right lane. The road I turned on leads to the cruise terminals in downtown Galveston, so it is a very popular road, especially on weekends. If you don't catch the green, the next green takes what seems like 5 minutes. I will continue to use the right lane as I almost always do and, like I always do and as I did in this case, I expect idiots will ignore the two signs and I react accordingly. Thanks for the advice, though.
