Always from the left for me, I suppose it's a hangover from my early days of riding Suzuki T250 and T500's. The choke lever and kickstart were both on the left on these bikes.

The motor cops say to mount on the high side, on the right especially if you're on the side of the road. Keeps you more out of traffic.

I noticed also that I don't have to hold my boot up as long if I get on from the right side. The other side bag is lower, so as I am leaning over I don't have to keep my boot up that high longer than necessary.

This guy has an interesting point. If you mount on the right side and take enough weight off the kickstand there is a chance of it closing and bike falling over if not prepared. Not so from left.

I have always jumped on from the left. Right side just seems odd.

He should probably just stick to fixing ‘em. I’ve NEVER seen a kickstand spring so strong it would retract itself when weight is removed.
