You do all your own work or get help from friends,
I can say I have had 2 of my 3 Harley that never been in a dealers shop for work and all 3 had more then 30,000 on them before they where sold .

 

Only for recall work.

 

You must be super lucky and have never had a warranty or recall issue on those bikes. Fixing a warranty or recall issue yourself wouldn’t be admirable, but kinda dumb.

Ive only taken mine in for warranty stuff, recalls, and liability stuff like having the brakes and clutch flushed every two years.

 

3 of my 4 bikes have never had a dealer service, my 2014 RK needs an over due neck bearing service done, HD mechanic who does some work on the side is going to do that for me.

 

16 Limited with over 25,000 miles and never has been in a service bay other than my garage. My 11 Road King over 30,000 miles only went 2 times, one was the 1000 mile check up they threw in when I bought it and 2nd was a brake switch recall. Lucky I guess, Nothing I couldn't do my self has gone wrong.

 

Took mine in for 1K service. Trusted it was done right. Check oil after riding 1500 miles. It was black.

Took photos and videos of me doing it every 2500 until warranty was over..

 

I wouldn't let a dealership hack put air in my tires.
I've ridden Harleys since 1969 and have never had any service done by a dealer.

 

Nope, after they put the tuner on . When I bought my bike the magnaflow exhaust wasn't in stock, I wouldn't even take it back for them to install it. There service department will never touch my bike!

Only owned my '09 Ultra Classic for a year & a half but I dont plan on going to a dealership. Have never taken any of my bikes/quads to any dealership or indy mechanic.
