$38 bucks to do a factory tour

A simple 10-second internet search would have informed the uninformed. Two different tours. One free. One paid.

Man thats pretty sad when you have to pay for a tour of there factory, just lets you know what they thing of there customers lets start by you paying us to let you see what we do it puts a bad taste in my mouth ill never pay for a tour of there place thats for sure. What a way to start you off money first ???

The free tour is pretty good and lasts about 45 minutes. The Steel Toe Tour is the one that costs $38 and goes in to the work areas for a better view and it lasts about one hour or more. Both tours are very nice and of course there's also a nice gift shop. There are no tours available from July 1st until the dealer show in late August as this is when production of the new model year is happening and they dont want the new secrets revealed.

I can understand how the $38 fee for a guided would be a good deal for someone who has never worked or seen the inner workings of a manufacturing or assembly plant, especially one that produces one of the world's most iconic motorcycles.
However, for those of us who have worked in, and visited many factories for many years it would be just another plant to us.
Several years ago, our car club visited the REO Museum in Lansing, MI and while we were doing the tour I walked into the area where an overhead conveyor line with engines and transmissions were on display and I, for the first and only time in my life experienced a "flashback"!
