Yeah, but that would take away the opportunity to crap on the MOCO. Facts are too inconvenient

The free tour is pretty good and lasts about 45 minutes. The Steel Toe Tour is the one that costs $38 and goes in to the work areas for a better view and it lasts about one hour or more. Both tours are very nice and of course there's also a nice gift shop. There are no tours available from July 1st until the dealer show in late August as this is when production of the new model year is happening and they dont want the new secrets revealed.

Minivan parking is free, motorcycle parking is $10.

I can understand how the $38 fee for a guided would be a good deal for someone who has never worked or seen the inner workings of a manufacturing or assembly plant, especially one that produces one of the world's most iconic motorcycles.

However, for those of us who have worked in, and visited many factories for many years it would be just another plant to us.

Several years ago, our car club visited the REO Museum in Lansing, MI and while we were doing the tour I walked into the area where an overhead conveyor line with engines and transmissions were on display and I, for the first and only time in my life experienced a "flashback"!

Diff is it costs firms money to do a tour... You have labor, INSURANCE, general labor and upkeep, etc. etc.

38 bucks wouldn`t be enough to pay ME to visit that plant.
