I had no idea that turkeys felt that way about Sportsters.

Dayum. Those things can mess you up big time.

Friend of mine is an electrical contractor. Hit a turkey in his big Ford van a while back. Point of impact was right on the top edge of the windshield. Buckled the entire top of the van.

Not to be ghoulish, but I just saw this.

Reminds me of my close call with a turkey buzzard near Gettysburg. Came outta a right hand ditch and about 2-feet above my head. It looked like a B-52 to me. Condolences to the folks in Kansas.

Had one fly into me while I was riding home from work on my 02 Dyna. It hit me dead square on the clutch handle, pushed to clutch handle into my hand bending it and that impact into my wrist. Replaced clutch handle, the next day and the wrist took a few weeks to feel better. The turkey didn't fair as well, impact open the chest, broke it's neck and I collected the longest tail feather as a souvenir. Bike wobbled pretty good at 55 mph, adrenalin can be a rush.

Glad you're Ok to ride another day...

My buddy hit one w/his truck and not only did it dent the $hit out of his hood & cab, it spit out eggs along the way so there was gooey yellow/yolk crap splattered everywhere...gross.

I had a wild turkey pop out of the woods and attack me when I was at a stop sign in rural NJ. Fortunately, It just pecked at my boot until I was able to take off. Last year I was "buzzed" by what I think was a bald eagle while riding through the Everglades on the Tamiami Trail. VERY scary, sort of like a guided missile coming at me. And, a few years ago I had a turkey buzzard commit "suicide by F150" by flying out of the bushes just outside NJMP Thunderbolt on way home from a track day-you knew there had to be a motorcycle connection!-made a big thump, left a huge cloud of feathers in the rearview. I wasn't about to stop and look for it.

My $0.02. OK, I'm done.
