Hit a turkey

There are large flocks of them all over town around here. One flock in particular has a range that seems to be centered around the I-80/I-680 interchange. In the summer when they are active, it's not unusual to see 20 or more milling around by the highway.

One of the guys at work (rides a Ducati) got into a swarm of birds this last weekend.
One in the knee, one in the shoulder & one IN the fairing.
I mean "inside" the fairing, he is not sure how it got inside and did not seem to have broken anything.
He has to remove a bunch of plastic bits to get it out though....

Several years ago a friend and I were riding to our fish camp for the weekend. There's a 12 mile stretch of road along the way that is really nice. Very few houses, light traffic, lots of curves, slow speeds and surrounded by woods. As I was riding along I kept seeing a shadow over my head but I couldn't quite make out what was causing it, this went on for about 30-45 seconds or so.
Once we reached the end of that stretch of road we came to a stop sign and my friend who had been behind me said something like "WTF was up with that turkey?". I had no idea what he was talking about so he said that a turkey had been flying along with me about 3 to 4 feet over my head then after a little while it got some altitude and took off.

Not too far North of New York City actually :P I laugh, in order to go turkey hunting I have to drive 60 miles north and if I'm lucky I might hear one. While I'm sitting at work though? They walk up to the windows of the building and peck at their reflections
