My guess is this bike was waaaaay over the $3500 mark. You did the right thing. No way do you trust people anymore. AND if it becomes a Hassel, maybe it's God's way of steering you away.

FWIW, on those NADA prices or whatever, you are NOT gonna buy an ecellent shape, low miles, 2003 or so DYNA around here for anywhere near $3K. I wanna shop where you guys are!

I wouldn't have let you take the bike for $1000 either.

In the end, like you said,it wasn't meant to be.

I would have been pissed after that drive to find out the title was in another State. I would stay away from that deal. Hopefully you gave him and his friend some choice words.

I only discourage purchases when the buyer is trying to find excuses to buy the bike in face of a large list of other issues which would clearly stop any sane person, namely financial juggling and the old favorite it will save money commuting. Otherwise, i am in the camp of, if you can afford it and you want it, then it just comes down to how much do you want it.

Adios is right! You definitely went above and beyond to keep the deal alive, but in all honesty, selling a bike with no title in hand is bad business. Best of luck on your search for that '03!

Yup, keep lookin'.

(Hey, how about a 2016 FXDL?)
I might know where there is one. Zero surprises too, as I have all proper docs.
I just lowered the price 10 mins ago...
