My guess is this bike was waaaaay over the $3500 mark. You did the right thing. No way do you trust people anymore. AND if it becomes a Hassel, maybe it's God's way of steering you away.
FWIW, on those NADA prices or whatever, you are NOT gonna buy an ecellent shape, low miles, 2003 or so DYNA around here for anywhere near $3K. I wanna shop where you guys are!

I only discourage purchases when the buyer is trying to find excuses to buy the bike in face of a large list of other issues which would clearly stop any sane person, namely financial juggling and the old favorite it will save money commuting. Otherwise, i am in the camp of, if you can afford it and you want it, then it just comes down to how much do you want it.
