Hey everyone, I'm hoping I can get this answered here, seeing as how no one is looking to make an extra buck. I recently found a Smart Security System part # 41000021C advertised on ebay stating it's compatible with my bike however the only part number that I can find on the HD site that is compatible with my bike is 41000021E. I did a google search of 41000021C and the only relevant site is for the HD Canada site which also states it's compatible with my bike. My question is does anyone know if it matters my bike was built in PA vs CA for this part to fit? The seller does not accept returns so not looking to take a loss here.

 

Under the old part numbering system, each revision would be superseded with a letter at the end of the number. I assume it still holds true under the new numbering system. If that holds true, the 41000021C and 41000021E are the same part, just the one with the “E” is a newer version. Both should fit your bike.

 

Thanks for the response. I reached out to the seller and he stated the same thing. I just hold you guys' word to be truer than his. I went ahead and ordered it. Will post here again to confirm if it fit.

 

Just FYI for anyone who is curious about this, @dawg was correct. The part fit fine and works great!
