Default So how long do spark plug wires last

I have had 7 street bikes in my life and had never changed plug wires on any of them . I’m ride a 2005 Deuce with 31,000 miles with out any problems. And was just thinking that there only 30 bucks . And there 14 years old but look good .
So how long do some of you guys push them ?

I ride a '94 and I'm still on the originals so, who knows? Plugs and coils on late model cars seem to last forever. Plugs about 75,00 mi. and coils about 50k or more? And it's usually heat that destroys the wires.

Depends on how hard of life they get. Pull the caps off by the wires and not the caps? Right away replace. If you think the wires are beginning to increase their ohm's, then replace them.

Not sure my 1996 FB has the factory wires and it 23 years old. Replaced the ones on my 2016 at 2,000 miles but that was because I wanted a different color.

any time the tank is off, I would do it. My 01 in 05 or 06 gave me a jolt. Never grabbed another pair on a running bike to compare.

Check them with an multimeter and see if they are in spec.

Mine were in spec and still jolted me. I haven't grabbed any others to see if they all do that, as the dealers say.

I just had the original spark plug wires replaced with the new HD wires last month...the bike is 16 yrs old w/676xx miles on it.

It cost $18.00 for the wires and my Indy shop installed 'em for free. I can't feel any difference, but I figured it was time for new ones...yea, I know, I'm a high roller.
