I have avoided riding in Missouri because I hate having to wear a helmet. And I think im going to finally cave and plan a trip through Missouri. I have a full face helmet but I don't want to wear it in the middle of the summer. So I am looking for a good low profile half helmet, that doesn't give you a mushroom head. I know they are out there but im having a hard time finding one. Appreciate the help.

I wear an Akoury helmet for hot summer days: https://akouryhelmets.com/product/ak88-boss-67-series/
...and an HJC full face helmet for cooler days: http://www.hjchelmets.com/hjca/rpha11pro/

A helmet shouldn't be the reason why you don't ride.

Toronto? What do you consider 'HOT' days? You probably wear full face 11 mo. out of the year. LOL

Daytona helmets shells are sized. A small or medium is smaller than a large or extra large. No mushroom head.
But on a long trip I always where my Shoei full face. It’s vented well and gives me better protection. The wind doesn’t beat me up on long rides.

The Akoury looks nice in the link provided by Route66. I have a Daytona and like it, especially the ratchet strap:

I live one state over and wear FF all summer, plus it doesn't give me the mushroom, or *****-head look.

Our summers can be scorching hot and super humid. Last year, we hit record highs of 35°C (95°F). I wear the full face in the spring and fall seasons, mostly.
