Default OEM seat prices higher on ebay than dealer?

So i noticed something strange as i was looking for a solo touring seat. Why are used seats so higher when you can buy them new. Am i missing something.

Before buying anything off E bay, I always check the dealers brand new price. Most of the time you can get new for less than E bay.

couple things, the seat that you linked to ebay vs the seat that you linked on the hd site are not the same seat. the p&a seat you linked is all vinyl. the cvo seat in the first ad is leather with vinyl sides. a better comparison would be the black cvo seat from the 2012 roadglide that runs msrp $388. still, new is $11 cheaper than the used item here.

secondly, whenever you stick 'cvo' in front of a part, the seller thinks that means that it is a restricted sale item and therefor they can charge a premium for it.

because it's an oem part. you have to use the partsfinders fiche to find the part numbers. for actual descriptions, you have to look at the sales brochures for the bikes. when you buy the seat, it comes with a tag hooked to it that talks about leather, leather care, etc...
