Default Crazy Al’s DOT Beanie Helmet

So I decided to retire my beat up Novelty Helmet (Voss Polo) and go with a DOT.

After a bunch of looking around Crazy Al’s (Bikerhelmets.com) was my choice. All the photo’s support a low profile no mushroom head fit. The SOA inspired Gloss Black beanie with peek size XL was my choice.

Anyone using one of these care to chime in?

Here’s a pic of the one I ordered.

I’m looking for replies from folks that have tried Crazy Al’s not a FF recommendation. Thanks for the concern and for the record this is a move up in safety from a novelty to a DOT.

I have a matte black Crazy Al's half helmet, nice and light...no "Great Gazoo" look. the matte coating started coming off, gave it a good scrubbing and now it's gloss black. I love the ratchet buckle. one handed strap release is pretty nice. definite thumbs up from me.

I had a lousy experience dealing with them, I went with Skootdog.com for basically the same lid and had a MUCH better experience.

I have a Crazy Al's helmet that I wear when the weather is hot or just when I want some wind in my face.
Great little helmet...Light weight, easy ratchet release.
What's not to like?
I like my F/F as well but I too am not interested in wearing it when it's hot.

I have one like you ordered. Bought it for the peak and because of that wear it more than others.
It didn't fit real well at first but has begin to form to the shape of my noggin.
For my head I prefer the fit of Akoury, but without the peak the sun is too much at times.

I went with Daytona - pretty much the same thing - low profile DOT, but reasonably priced. Nice quick release strap.
