How to fix my 18 inch apebars sliding back after a day or so
I push my apes little further forward....caus I like the more agressive stance....but they looose grip after a ride and slowly slides back so I have to unscrew the bolts and push apes forward and tighten the screws again......
what to do? I am sick or adjusting the apes.... |
Put t-bars on it instead?

nooooo i love my apes...they look good

Anybody have solution for sagging apes?
A lot of great info there. |
For 18” bars, there is a lot of extra leverage being applied to the clamp area so drilling the clamp (or a riser) and putting in a set screw is probably the best idea.

Maybe some tape around the bars then clamp

I posted a similar question a week or so ago (I'm the, "sagging ape guy" above). Got several suggestions (much thanks all). I ended up wrapping the knurling with dry wall screen (sounded like the best suggestion short of installing a screw). About to go on a 400 mile ride - I'll see how it works out.

Bagger Nation (Yaffe) has a much better clamp they sell.
Rock solid. |
