Default Frustrating Kendon trailer experience

Just a fyi guys, had a horrible experience trying to order a Kendon trailer. First they totally jacked me around on the price, at first it was $2,400 then $2,600 then finally $2,700 (whatever) OK so I go order it, they say it should ship within a couple of weeks, 5 weeks later no sign of the trailer, when I called they said they have no idea when the trailer will finally get delivered and the only thing I can do is wait for them to get them through customs, (they told me that for 3 weeks) Finally, I said F this and canceled the order, at which they tried to charge me a 20% restocking fee, for a trailer they never delivered. So to make a long story short, I ordered the same trailer from USA Trailer, $400 less and it shipped in 5 days. Oh it also does stand up, contrary to what their competitors say.

are you sure it was kendon you were dealing with? all kendon trailers are made in california. last time i checked, you don't have to clear customs between ca and mn.

That's what I was wondering. It's a nice trailer for an open type. Were you dealing with someone in the metro T.C. area? Name them. I'm just west of Mpls.

Kendon has two product lines. One is the original made in CA and the other is a cheaper option made overseas.

For a time, ALL Kendon trailers were made in China. I'm not saying that's the case now but it was at one time. During that period they had some serious quality control issues. If I remember right, it took them a while to own up to it despite the "Made in USA" banners on the website.

Below is an article regarding the move of manufacturing to China in 2007. At some point (the article may even state it) when they claimed to move production back to the USA. If I were in the market for one, I'd have to talk with someone who actually toured the US production facility and saw the frames being welded up with US steel and aluminum.

Kendon has two lines, one is made in the USA the other in China. They are virtually identical except where they are manufactured.

Their "GO" series of trailers are made in China.

when did those come out? never seen that line.

kinda sneaky on their part, when they describe the kendon go series, they have a line that says,

Made in America! – Our premium line of Kendon folding trailers are handcrafted right here, in America, from American-made components.***
only, you can't view what the 3 asterisks are for, and obviously the go series are not their premium line.
