Have you ridden the new m8? I was all in to getting a new Road Glide, but the m8 doesn’t feel like a Harley to me. I like the rumble of the twin cam personally. Test one out.

I own both a twin cam and an m8. I haven't had issues with the M8 but my preference would be the TC just because there have been reports of issues that are not so minor. My position would be less risk getting a problem bike with the TC.

From what I've been reading the problems with the M8 seem to be at the core of the engine design brought about by specific riding behaviors. A latent flaw in the design that will never be seen by no or low mileage riders, which I would guess is a fair amount of owners. The only statistics that should matter should be within the same riding group sampling.

You are correct about keeping failure rates in perspective, it just has to be in the correct statistical perspective.

The M8 problems are troubling. The issue will probably accelerate after a few years and higher miles on more machines. Time will tell.

Is the exhaust on the m8 stock, cause if they are not you might not have Any warranty left. Harley has become very strict on what you can, and can not do to their new bikes.

That ^

Better the devil you know than the devil you don't. That and the Twin Cam A is the last big twin Harley engine ever produced that isn't counter balanced.

I'd go with the twin cam, knowing what I know now.
