Default So I just happened to run into FXD2003Rider

So my wife and I did Rolling Thunder yesterday and had a great time. She even told me several times that it was in the Top 10 coolest things she’s ever done...so win-win. Anyway, we got up this morning and she said “Let’s go for a ride!”

So we got on the bike and headed west towards Front Royal, VA. When we got into town I pulled into the first gas station to top off. I saw a couple of other bikers standing and talking with one another, and when I finished topping off, I pulled the bike next to them and struck up a conversation about the previous days events. So I introduced myself and started talking with this guy who I notice has a Dutch Flag and veterans patch, as well as a unique looking “V” shaped symbol on his vest. As I am talking to him I am thinking to myself, “I’ve seen this somewhere before...”.

So, a couple of the others bikers came over and introduced themselves to me and my wife and we talked for about ten minutes shooting the breeze about Rolling Thunder and their trip. They’re here in the U.S. after shipping their bikes and are touring around. So wanting to be polite and let them get on their way, I started saying good luck, ride safe, etc.

But for some reason it hit me who this was, just as I was walking away. I’d read his posts and noticed he was veteran of the Dutch Army. So I turned and asked, “You wouldn’t happen to be on the HDforums would you?” The guys face lit up and with a big grin he said “Why yes, I am FXD2003Rider”.

Just goes to show you what a small world we travel in. I told him I’d post a picture of us.

Safe travels here in the U.S. and my wife and I hope you enjoy your stay!

Nice story. We went to Rolling Thunder in 17 and we really enjoyed the people we met along the way. It sure is a small world.

Way Way cool!!! It's always great to hook up with a fellow HDForum person. I've had the pleasure once and I look forward to hooking up with another.
