I have read that you should put the raspy thing in and turn it around ( as opposed to pulling it in and out ) to get all of the cords going in the same direction before putting the plug in. I've got all of the patching stuff on board, but haven't had to use it yet.

You missed my point. With all the worm plugs I've successfully installed, combined with all the other plugs others have claimed to successfully install on this thread, the plug ain't the problem with your tire.
