No, it's large but not large enough to be useful. If you secured the strap on the back to form a belt loop it could possibly be used as a belt pouch, but what you could put in it would be limited.

One more update. After I put the bib on the bike, I "liked" it, but I was still unsure about it. Is it too overbearing? Too unique?

Well, today was the first chance I've had to ride the bike with it on because we've had several days of rain. Let me just say that when sitting on the bike and riding, it looks AMAZING! Seriously. It is absolutely staying on!
