Has anyone seen something like this before?

Looks like road hazard damage to me.

Seen it before on cars/trucks. looks like you clipped a bolt or something... +1 to what Uncle G. said

Idunno. Kind of looks like a doctored picture to me. I'm leaning towards calling fugazi on this one.

Road damage is what I thought as well. Might park it until I can get a new tire. Thanks

yeah I'd get that fixed asap. That's a nice chunk out of the sidewall

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that won't buff out.

That tire looks like it's almost brand new. I see HUGE chicken strips on it.
The abrasion looks to be from maybe mounting/installing something on/in/around the rear fender area.

Or, is it a front wheel position?

EDIT~Upon further examination, that looks to be a manufacturer's defect. Might want to see what Dunlop says...

Thanks. And yes, it's on front tire. I have no idea what caused that. I'm sure I'd remember hitting something that severe. I might've bought it with that already there. If so, l like my "corider" lol
