This was my heat shield after wearing Frog Togs rain pants on a trip last year.

Not sure if it is the best way, but I soaked a rag with Goo Gone and let it sit on the area overnight. That took a lot of the crud off. I then used Blue Magic metal polish to get what was left. It looked like new after.

They're cheap to buy, but you pay down the road. I've seen lots of threads on these Frog Togs melting, can't contribute any more that what's above.

Yep. I bought them because they were cheap. They actually worked well to keep me dry the first couple times I had to use them, and I was careful not to put my right foot down and keep them away from the header. But then I got stuck in some stop and go traffic in construction and had to put my feet down, couldn’t avoid getting them too close to the pipes. I still have the jacket part of the set as my rain jacket, but got some Tourmaster pants that won’t melt.

Never dull or the oven cleaner as someone already mentioned are two good choices.

Have any that have used these cheap suits learned their lesson, or will this be repeated? HD Hi Viz is the way to go.
