I have one (AK-88) I purchased last year. I bought it snug on the advice of a friend who had one, as she said it would loosen up some. It's fine without a doo-rag, but if I wear one of any kind of thickness, its a bit tight and gives me a headache. I planned on purchasing the next size up, and giving mine to my husband. Was going to try the AK-66, but now I'm wondering how this substituted brand will compare.

I have an AK88 in carbon fiber and love it. Sorry to see them go, if that's what's happened.

I bought the mat 88 2 years ago, the mat coating is rubbing off. Just a heads up

This helmet seems to be very similar in quality and build to my friend's "crazy" helmet. it sits so low on the head that the tops of my ears do touch the helmet. i'm not sure i am going to like that but we shall see. again since i did not have an akoury not sure how they compare but i cannot see it being much different from the pics.

The Akoury does the same thing for me. Flared my ears out quite a bit. I actually use goggles with that helmet to hold my ears in

Many of those really nice small helmets only get made until the DOT "actually" test them. Then they are shut down. It's happened several times in the past.

Its interesting that Blackbeards states that this brand is "identical in every way" to the Akoury. Kinda makes you wonder if a brand just switches names when the above happens......
