TBW grips aren't bad at all, you don't have to mess with and adjust cables. The end of the TBW sensor is notched, like a little gear, the new grip is notched internally and just slips over that.
I've got HD Defiance grips on my Low Rider. Look good but not very comfortable. Back in the day I had Kuryakyn Iso Grips on my Sportster and they really worked for that 1200cc vibrator.

On my RK I am running Avon chrome Air Cushion. They work pretty good but they feel tacky to me when the temps get up over 90*, so I have a set of thick leather grip covers I slip over them when it gets that way.
On my shovel I have the old coke bottle type. On my other bikes I have whatever was on when I bought them, I have leather covers on all of them.
