looking for some comfortable grips for my Softail. the ones on it are like a flame type design and I don't care for the look and after about an hour of riding even with gloves on my hands start to numb.
not sure if its the grips or what but would like to change them out.
do you all prefer the softer grips and if so which ones.

 

I’ve had ISO (never again) Avon (not bad) and now HD Get-A-Grip Magnums (pretty good).

 

I'm running the stock rubber grips on my current bike. I would like to change them but I just never got around to it and I'm not too sure whats under there on the throttle by wire bikes. Might be a PITA.
I had a set of fat grips on my Electra Glide, nice leather wrapped with chrome end caps. They were the best I ever had but unfortunately IDK what brand they were.

 

I use grips from harley that are leather with chrome end caps, my hands never get numb, a bundle of choices out their, even the stock foam grips were good, I just wanted something different, I can dig them out and send them to you if you want, just cover shipping.

Avon memory foam are the most comfortable I’ve have.

On my second set of Avon grips , Avon Air Cushioned grips is the model name . First set on my 2016 883 Iron , and just installed a set on my new 2019 Softail Slim . Real easy to install with the no cable throttle design . Avon claims their grips are USA made, I like that ! When I removed the new grips from the 2019 Softail there was a made in Taiwan stamped on the inside , Harley Taiwan grips are junk compared to the US made Avons . I would never over pay for a Harley grip made in Taiwan .

 

Numb hands after an hour of riding might not be the grips or gloves. Relax and loosen up a bit.
