Forty years ago this particular style of passenger accommodation netted me a hot redhead and three offspring from what was otherwise a pleasant ride to San Antonio on my solo shovelhead chop. Striking resemblance to the female in the second pic above.
That was a story unto itself.
ETA: Have you ever tried riding sitting backwards?

Never heard it called anything, but I can tell you not all that comfortable for the rider. Gets old after about 15 minutes, feels like half of her weight is on you, no good for long distance riding. That said, either of the girls in the above pictures are more then welcome to try out the rear fender of my Flathead.

With no pegs the passenger pile drives each bump into her rear end and spine - look at that chick in pic 1. "'Whimper whimper' I wanna go home I cant take this anymore, its killing my _ss..." - yeah I've heard that before lol.
Rigids require constant attention - you have to pull yourself up off of bumps or you'll get creamed. A passenger cant do that - they are at the mercy of kinetics. My last rigid pan was circa '95. One day I was tooling along, looking at scenery, maybe 45 mph, and simply rolled over a sort of narrow dip in the pavement, like where an underneath cable or something settled, without paying attention. I'm telling you that surprise unprepared jolt hit me like a pile driver, and I felt that "uh-oh" pinched-nerve/spine sharp lower back pain so intense I had to pull over. I also bit my tongue when I hit it. I had to sorta stretch out on the side of the road and smoke a cigarette to get my __it together. My perspective of a passenger.
I just cant ride rigids without sprung seats anymore, sorry too old.

Local tavern I've frequated semi regular for the last 30 odd years, popped in for cold one recently after not visiting for a few years and was thinking damn the women all look old in here then remembering I had probably banged half of them back when. Going to be long while before I go back again.....
